Excessive clearance allows the tool to run off axis, increasing tool wear and potentially damaging the front head. Tool and bushing wear should be considered together. Service limits are model specific, so obtain the applicable specification using the breaker’s model and serial information.

Contractors who use a breaker regularly may consider keeping commonly consumed items available, such as a spare working tool, tool bushing, retaining hardware and seal kit. The appropriate stock depends on the breaker model, application and consumption rate.
