McCann is a partner, not just a dealer
Why McCann?
“To be honest, the fact that McCann came out and asked us, more
or less, what they could do to help, rather than pushing what they
wanted to sell, showed us that they were more interested in helping
us than just making a sale. They didn’t push me out of my comfort
zone one time. That truly means a lot to me. Other salesmen will call
you up and tell you, ‘Here’s the dollar figure on a machine. We have
one left. If you don’t buy it this week, it is going to be gone’. McCann
doesn’t do that. McCann says, ‘What can we do to help?’ and ‘Does it
make sense to do this move?’ We work through it.
“The people I deal with at McCann actually listen to what I need, not
just what they want to sell. One day, I went into their office and asked
about a piece of equipment. They sat down with me and discussed
my needs, and we decided together that it didn’t actually make sense
for me to buy that piece of equipment right now. They suggested that
I hang on to my current machine for a year or two and get my equity
out of it. That is more valuable to me than anything else they could do
for me, because that means they care about my business. They’re not
out there 100% pushing machines to get them out of their door. They
want to make sure I’m making the right decision for my company.”
McCann Has Become My Partner
“One of the main people I work with at McCann, Jon Krause, has
actually become a good friend. There are days he’ll just come up
if he’s in the area and swing by and hang out for a minute. It truly
feels like a partnership, and he doesn’t feel like a salesman. What
all the other dealers I’ve worked with do is push. I would call my old
salesman and say, ‘Here’s what I am looking for, and I don’t want
to spend more than $1600 a month’. Next thing I know ‘Yeah, it’s
$2300 a month, and the machine will be gone tomorrow, and it’s the
cheapest and last machine I got’. Those types of dealers make you
feel forced into buying it, and then I end up with something I cannot
afford. James Maioho, who is the branch manager, and Jon wouldn’t
let me do that. That is huge to me.
“Their service department is excellent. Anytime we have called,
they have been right out there with a truck to help us out. McCann
came out to service one of my pieces of equipment and noticed
aluminum shavings in my oil. The machine had not broken down yet,
and it had not been giving me issues. But they proactively fixed the
problem before it caused me downtime. I think that day they had an
850 bulldozer come out of Chicago and up to Marne, so I could keep
working while they replaced my engine under warranty. Obviously,
that was quite impressive.”
Superior Equipment
“I grew up on mid 80s and early 90s equipment. I like that CASE
equipment is a little more simplified. It’s not like other manufacturers
where I have 140 toggle switches in my cabin. I really appreciate that.
CASE has a machine that is set up to work, and it has all the features
you need. It doesn’t have all the extra functions you don’t need. The
way other machines are going, there’s a ton more stuff to go wrong.
Everything I have has exceeded, in my opinion, all the competition.
